Nigerian software engineer and technology entrepreneur Ajibola Olajide Shokunbi has unveiled EDUCAKESIMS V2, an upgraded school-management platform designed to help schools improve administration, financial accountability, teacher productivity and data-driven decision-making.
The new version of the platform combines real-time analytics, financial dashboards, banking visibility and AI-assisted report management to provide educational institutions with a single system for handling academic and operational activities.
Shokunbi said the platform was developed in response to common challenges faced by many Nigerian schools, including manual record-keeping, fragmented data systems and spreadsheet-based reporting that often make it difficult for administrators to obtain timely information.
Launched in 2022, EDUCAKESIMS has expanded from a local school-management solution to a platform currently used by more than 12 schools and supporting the administration of over 12,000 students.
The upgraded EDUCAKESIMS V2 introduces several new features aimed at improving school performance monitoring and resource management. The Income and Expenditure Dashboards allow school owners and finance teams to track revenue, expenses, outstanding balances and overall financial performance, while the School Banking Dashboard provides authorised personnel with near-real-time access to banking transactions through secure integration.
The platform also includes an AI-assisted Report-Card Management feature intended to help teachers prepare student reports more efficiently and reduce repetitive administrative tasks.
Speaking on the launch, Shokunbi said the solution was designed specifically for the realities of Nigerian schools.
According to him, many institutions want to digitise their operations but require solutions that are practical, affordable and tailored to their operating environment, especially schools managing multiple campuses with separate billing, inventory and academic systems.
Dr Akinleye Akingbami, proprietor of Grace Spring Schools, said the platform has improved coordination and visibility across the organisation’s campuses in six Nigerian states. He explained that the school previously faced difficulties with fragmented financial reporting, payment reconciliation delays and stock-management challenges.
He added that, since adopting EDUCAKESIMS, the institution has been able to manage its campuses through a single integrated platform with real-time visibility into both academic and financial operations. Tasks that previously took days can now be completed within minutes, while access to accurate data has strengthened financial accountability and decision-making.
The launch highlights the growing role of locally developed Nigerian education technology solutions in supporting digital transformation across schools and other institutions.
Shokunbi said the continued expansion of EDUCAKESIMS demonstrates how homegrown software can contribute to strengthening Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and modernising education management nationwide
