2027: Tinubu will secure second term through achievements – Alausa

The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win re-election in 2027, arguing that the achievements of his administration will earn him another term in office.

Alausa, who was recently appointed Director of Education Sector Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, also criticised opposition parties, accusing them of lacking clear policies and a workable agenda for Nigerians.

The minister made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, where he alleged that opposition politicians were driven by envy and lacked the capacity to govern the country.

He maintained that the Tinubu administration had delivered tangible benefits to Nigerians and deserved another opportunity based on its performance.

Alausa further claimed that the President had transformed different sectors of the economy, insisting that his re-election would be justified by the administration’s accomplishments.

He urged Nigerians not to be swayed by opposition parties, accusing them of promoting division instead of presenting credible alternatives to the ruling APC.

The education minister also highlighted the Federal Government’s relationship with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as evidence of progress under Tinubu’s administration.

According to him, the government has fulfilled its agreement with the university lecturers’ union and is making efforts to ensure that students complete their university programmes within the expected four-year period.

Alausa said the administration was committed to ending situations where academic programmes that should last four years extend beyond their scheduled duration.

He also noted that ASUU had not embarked on a strike since Tinubu assumed office, describing the development as evidence of improved relations between the Federal Government and university lecturers.
