The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has introduced a new anti-corruption framework designed to strengthen transparency, accountability and ethical conduct within the company.
The framework was unveiled on Tuesday at the TCN headquarters in Abuja and consists of four policies covering anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering and fraud, conflict of interest, and whistleblowing.
TCN’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, was represented at the event by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi.
Abdulaziz said TCN’s role in Nigeria’s electricity supply chain makes its credibility dependent not only on its achievements but also on the manner in which it conducts its operations.
He stressed the need for employees to consistently uphold integrity, professionalism and responsibility in their dealings.
According to him, tackling corruption requires the participation of both management and staff, while ethical behaviour must become an integral part of TCN’s corporate culture.
The four policies have been compiled into a single booklet by TCN’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, ACTU.
The TCN chief executive urged members of staff to study the policies and ensure that their provisions guide their everyday decisions and conduct.
