The White House has launched a round-the-clock streaming platform known as “Trump TV”, providing viewers with access to videos, announcements, past speeches and other content from President Donald Trump’s administration.
The White House announced the launch on its official X account on Monday, saying the platform would be updated continuously with content from the administration.
Officially titled “TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station,” the channel is available through the White House website and its YouTube channel.
The White House described the platform as a central source for what it considers the administration’s major moments, including presidential remarks, videos and other highlights.
The launch comes amid an ongoing dispute between the Trump administration and several major US media organisations over access to the White House.
The administration recently barred CNN, Politico and MS NOW from White House grounds. The three organisations subsequently filed lawsuits challenging the decision.
Following the restrictions, major television networks including ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC suspended their shared White House pool coverage in support of the affected news organisations.
The White House has defended its approach to media access, while Trump has repeatedly criticised coverage he considers unfair and has used the term “fake news” in describing some reports about his administration.
First Trump TV broadcast
The first programme aired on the new channel consisted of previously recorded material rather than a live presidential event.
Among the footage was Trump’s July 3 address at Mount Rushmore.
The launch gives the White House a direct channel for distributing video content featuring Trump and his administration, reducing its reliance on traditional television networks to reach viewers.
