A member of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, NASIEC, Dr Samuel Tsebe, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, with immediate effect.
Tsebe, who is a former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Akwanga South Constituency, announced his resignation in Akwanga on Monday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.
He disclosed that he had submitted his resignation letter to the APC chairman of his ward, Akwanga West Electoral Ward.
According to the NASIEC commissioner, his decision to leave the APC was based on personal reasons and his desire to pursue his political ambitions and contribute to the development of his community and the country.
Tsebe has since defected to the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
He said the move was aimed at creating an opportunity for him to pursue his political future while continuing to serve his people, community and the nation.
The former lawmaker thanked the APC and its leadership for the opportunities he received while serving in different capacities within the party.
He also expressed support for the SDP, calling for its victory in the 2027 general elections.
