INEC Collates Results
Earlier, attention had shifted to the INEC headquarters in Osun State following the completion of voting and the collation of results from polling units across the state.
Returning officers from six local government areas had arrived at the commission’s collation centre with their respective results, while additional results were expected from other local government areas.
INEC’s Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Musa Olurode, said the collation exercise would begin as more results arrived at the centre.
IReV Uploads Resume
Meanwhile, the electronic uploading of polling-unit results from the Osun governorship election to INEC’s Result Viewing Portal (IReV) resumed after a lengthy pause.
The number of results on the platform had earlier remained at 3,292 out of 3,763 polling units for nearly two hours, prompting concerns among political stakeholders and members of the public.
By 11:42 p.m., the number of uploaded results had increased to 3,482, representing 92.53 per cent of the 3,763 expected polling-unit results.
A total of 281 polling-unit results were still awaiting upload at that point.
The renewed uploads occurred as the wider collation process continued across the state.
The earlier delay had attracted public attention, with singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, also questioning INEC over the situation.
INEC’s IReV platform allows voters, political parties, observers and other stakeholders to view polling-unit results uploaded electronically as the electoral collation process progresses.
