The Zamfara State Substance Abuse Control and Prohibition of Human Trafficking Agency has renewed its collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to intensify efforts against drug abuse, illicit drug trafficking and human trafficking in the state.
The agency’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Habibu Yalwa, led a high-level delegation on a familiarisation visit to the Zamfara State Command of the NDLEA.
The visit was aimed at deepening inter-agency cooperation and strengthening the partnership between both organisations in tackling substance abuse and related crimes.
The delegation was received by the Commander of the NDLEA Zamfara Command, Kabiru Muhammad, who described the engagement as an important step toward improving the existing working relationship between the two agencies.
Muhammad thanked Dr. Yalwa and his team for the visit, stressing that the challenges of substance abuse, illegal drug trafficking and human trafficking cannot be effectively addressed by any single agency.
He said sustained collaboration, intelligence sharing and coordinated operations among relevant government institutions remain critical to achieving lasting results.
Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Yalwa explained that the visit was intended to reinforce the partnership between the agencies, improve intelligence exchange, coordinate public awareness campaigns and develop joint strategies to combat substance abuse, illicit drug trafficking and human trafficking across Zamfara State.
