Beauty Pricing Reflects Professionalism, Logistics — Makeup Artist

A Makeup artists have said pricing in the beauty industry goes beyond service delivery, stressing that professionalism, planning, and logistics all contribute to what clients are charged.

Speaking on TRADE FM’s SME segment of BUSINESS BREAKFAST BRIEFING on the topic” Beauty industry Trends 2026: what clients are demanding now”: Idiba explained that many clients often misunderstand pricing, assuming artists charge high fees simply for convenience, without considering the cost of preparation and execution.

According to her, makeup services often involve transporting equipment, setting up studio-quality lighting, and planning for different client environments, especially when services are delivered at home.

She noted that artists also have to plan ahead for possible changes in client schedules or unexpected situations, which makes proper financial and operational planning essential in the industry.

Idiba also addressed misconceptions that makeup artistry does not require training, stressing that it is a skilled profession that involves technique, consistency, and continuous development. While makeup artistry can be financially rewarding, Becky said many professionals still combine it with other income sources due to fluctuations in client demand, while others operate full-time depending on their structure and goals.

She further explained that product knowledge and choice also affect service delivery, noting that clients often do not understand the difference between products but still expect high-quality results.

Speaking on male grooming, she said there is growing demand for male makeup services, although acceptance still varies depending on individual preferences, stressing that makeup artistry is a structured business that requires planning, professionalism, and strong customer service to remain competitive in the beauty industry.
