Kolo Magazine, a Pan-African publication, has launched its Nigerian edition as it seeks to strengthen coverage of the country’s business, creative and cultural sectors.
The new edition is designed to provide a platform for Nigerian entrepreneurs, business executives, creatives and emerging talents, while connecting their stories with audiences within Nigeria and internationally.
According to a statement issued on Monday, the Nigerian launch expands Kolo Magazine’s operations into one of Africa’s major commercial and cultural markets.
The publication will focus on areas including business, entertainment and lifestyle, using interviews, profiles, features and visual storytelling to highlight individuals and ideas influencing contemporary Nigeria.
The Nigerian edition was developed following months of research, reporting, editing and design by a local editorial team. The team will focus on stories that reflect the country’s entrepreneurial drive, cultural diversity and expanding creative economy, while maintaining the magazine’s wider Pan-African perspective.
Kolo Magazine was founded by Publisher and CEO Marinus Atanga, who said the publication was created to give Africans the opportunity to tell their stories authentically and with pride.
The magazine currently has an international presence that includes France, Cameroon and the United States.
Atanga described Nigeria as one of Africa’s most dynamic markets, citing its talent, innovation and cultural influence. He said the Nigerian launch was intended not only to expand the magazine’s reach but also to showcase African excellence and build connections between people, businesses and ideas across borders.
The inaugural Nigerian edition features personalities from the business, fashion, media and creative industries.
Among those featured are Chioma Rosemary Onyekaba, President and CEO of BBF & Cromstar Group, and fashion stylist and runway coach Smart Courage.
Onyekaba, a writer and former Second Lady of Imo State, has worked across the printing, publishing, fashion and media sectors. She was also recently recognised among Abuja’s Top 100 CEOs for her leadership and contribution to business, according to the publication.
Smart Courage, a fashion stylist and creative director, has reportedly trained more than 3,000 models and pageant contestants, earning recognition as one of Nigeria’s prominent male runway coaches.
Beyond individual profiles, Kolo Magazine Nigeria plans to explore wider economic and social issues, including sustainable development, youth empowerment, women’s leadership, and opportunities linked to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The publication will also offer businesses and organisations opportunities for advertising, brand storytelling, partnerships and institutional collaborations.
Its target audience includes decision-makers, entrepreneurs, investors, executives, professionals and consumers interested in culture and business.
Kolo Magazine Nigeria will be available in both print and digital formats, supported by multimedia reports and social media content aimed at reaching audiences beyond traditional magazine readers.
The publication is headquartered in Lagos and plans to increase its coverage of developments and personalities across Nigeria.
Atanga said the Nigerian edition represents part of a broader effort to promote African storytelling and strengthen connections between the continent and its global diaspora.
He described the launch as a reflection of confidence in Nigeria’s talent, Africa’s potential and storytelling as a tool for influencing perceptions, encouraging action and creating opportunities.
The Nigerian edition can be accessed through Kolo Magazine, with additional stories and updates to be shared across its social media platforms.
