Trade FM has launched a ₦2.25 million Campus Business Challenge aimed at identifying, promoting and supporting young entrepreneurs in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The competition, which opened for entries on October 9, will close on October 22, 2026, and is designed to provide student entrepreneurs with financial support, publicity and opportunities to grow their businesses.
Under the initiative, three outstanding student entrepreneurs will emerge as winners. The overall winner will receive ₦1 million, while the first and second runners-up will take home ₦750,000 and ₦500,000, respectively.
In addition to the cash prizes, the winners will benefit from publicity and business features on Trade FM, giving them greater visibility and an opportunity to showcase their products, services and business ideas to a wider audience.
Speaking on the initiative, Trade Fm Team, said thousands of students across the country were already building businesses and contributing to economic development despite operating with limited resources.
They noted that many young entrepreneurs had promising ideas and the determination to succeed but often lacked the visibility, funding and support needed to expand their operations.
According to Them, the Campus Business Challenge seeks to bridge this gap by identifying promising student-owned businesses and providing their founders with a platform to attract attention, gain recognition and scale their ventures.
The initiative also underscores the importance of encouraging entrepreneurship among young Nigerians, particularly students seeking to develop sustainable businesses while pursuing their education.
To participate, applicants must be between 16 and 25 years old and complete the mandatory registration process through the official application link.
Registered applicants are also required to produce a 60-second video introducing themselves, stating the tertiary institution they attend and presenting their businesses.
The videos must be uploaded to Instagram or TikTok, with participants tagging @tradefmlive and using the hashtag #TradeFMCampusBusinessChallenge.
Following the submission process, ten finalists will be shortlisted based on the strength of their business ideas, storytelling and growth potential.
The final selection will combine public engagement and the assessment of a judging panel, with public engagement accounting for 60 per cent of the final score and the judges’ assessment contributing the remaining 40 per cent.
With the October 22 deadline approaching, eligible student entrepreneurs are encouraged to complete their registration and submit their entries within the stipulated period.
Through the competition, Trade FM aims to spotlight student-led enterprises, celebrate young innovators and provide emerging entrepreneurs with opportunities to strengthen their businesses and contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth.
