American rapper and music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been taken to hospital after sustaining a head injury while serving his prison sentence in New Jersey, United States.
The 56-year-old was reportedly admitted to a hospital on Saturday, October 10, for treatment of an injury described as non-life-threatening, according to the Los Angeles Times, which reported the development on Monday.
The newspaper, citing TMZ, said Combs was conscious and able to speak before being taken to the hospital. However, the circumstances surrounding the reported injury had not been officially established in the latest reports.
A representative for Combs told the Los Angeles Times that the team was aware of the reports and was working to confirm what happened, adding that his health and well-being remained their immediate concern.
A spokesperson for the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix, where Combs is serving his sentence, declined to comment on the reported hospitalisation, the newspaper said.
The development comes amid renewed attention to claims about the rapper’s treatment and conditions in prison.
In a report published on October 2, the Los Angeles Times said NBC News had cited four anonymous inmates who alleged that Combs paid fellow prisoners to cook and clean for him. The report also included allegations that he had access to a prohibited mobile phone and an illegal supply of alcohol.
Other reports had claimed that Combs received special meals and massages while in custody.
His representative disputed the attention surrounding his prison conditions, telling NBC News that routine aspects of his life in prison were being presented as news.
The representative maintained that the more significant development was Combs continuing to serve his sentence while awaiting a court decision on his appeal.
The reports about his prison conditions were followed by a change in his projected release date. According to the Los Angeles Times, information from the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ inmate database showed that the date had been moved from January 21, 2028, to March 2, 2028.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence following his conviction in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
A jury acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges after a high-profile trial in New York.
The proceedings featured testimony about sexual encounters involving Combs, his former girlfriend Casandra Ventura, popularly known as Cassie, and male sex workers.
Combs’ legal team has appealed both his conviction and sentence, with the appeal still unresolved in the latest reports.
The reported hospitalisation represents another development in the legal and prison-related challenges facing the founder of Bad Boy Records, who previously ranked among the most influential figures in American hip-hop and the music business.
