The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared former chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, wanted over an alleged case involving the receipt of stolen property.
The anti-graft agency announced the development in a post on Wednesday, identifying Maina as an indigene of Biu, Borno State, and asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the commission.
The EFCC provided contact options through its offices in several cities, including Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, Uyo, Kano, Maiduguri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna. It also provided the telephone number 08093322644, its official email address and urged members of the public to contact the nearest police station or other security agencies.
The latest declaration is not the first time Maina has been declared wanted by the EFCC.
In 2015, the commission declared him wanted over allegations linked to a pension biometric contracts case involving former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Steve Oronsaye, and two others.
The EFCC subsequently charged Maina, Oronsaye and others before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a 24-count charge involving alleged procurement fraud and obtaining by false pretence.
Maina was also prosecuted by the EFCC in 2019 over allegations of pension fraud and money laundering.
