Ghana international Antoine Semenyo scored twice as Manchester City defeated Sunderland 5-3 to move to the top of the Premier League table at the weekend.
Semenyo opened his account for the season in the 43rd minute, finishing from close range to give City their third goal of the match.
The Ghanaian struck again in the 57th minute, calmly converting a pass from Rayan Cherki to put City 4-2 ahead at the Etihad Stadium.
Despite a hat-trick from Sunderland forward Brian Brobbey, City held on for the victory to move three points clear of second-placed Arsenal.
NICOLAS JACKSON – ASTON VILLA
Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson scored his second goal of the season as Aston Villa secured a 3-2 away victory over Tottenham.
Jackson, who had previously scored against Club Brugge in the Champions League, opened his Premier League account for the campaign in the 67th minute.
He got away from Jan Paul van Hecke before firing a powerful finish into the net to put Villa two goals ahead.
Tottenham mounted a late comeback, but Villa held on for their first league victory in five matches this season.
SPAIN
ILAIX MORIBA – CELTA VIGO
Guinea midfielder Ilaix Moriba scored his first goal of the season as Celta Vigo defeated Racing Santander 5-0 to record their first La Liga victory of the campaign.
The former Barcelona player drove towards the penalty area before finding the bottom corner with a low effort from about 20 yards, giving Celta a two-goal advantage.
GERMANY
ISMAEL SAIBARI – BAYERN MUNICH
Morocco international Ismael Saibari scored his first goal for Bayern Munich since joining the club from PSV Eindhoven in mid-2026 during their 7-0 Bundesliga win over Union Berlin.
Saibari cut inside from the left before taking advantage of another defensive mistake to score Bayern’s fifth goal with 20 minutes remaining.
The goal rounded off an impressive weekend for the Spain-born Morocco forward, who had been named footballer of the season in the Netherlands on Saturday.
The 25-year-old scored 19 goals and registered nine assists in 37 appearances as PSV Eindhoven won the Dutch league title.
FRANCE
ERNEST NUAMAH – LYON
Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah scored twice in the opening 30 minutes as Lyon defeated Rennes 4-0 in Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old was given a standing ovation when he was substituted midway through the second half.
Nuamah has now scored four goals in all competitions this season.
ILAN KEBBAL – PARIS FC
Algeria international Ilan Kebbal opened the scoring in the 18th minute as Paris FC defeated Strasbourg 2-1.
Kebbal received a lay-off from Mali striker Lassine Sinayoko before firing a rising shot into the net.
The victory moved Paris FC into third place, two points behind league leaders Monaco.
