2027: Oyo Prayer Group Mobilises Support for Alli, Tinubu

The Oyo State chapter of the National Prayer Support Group for Good Governance (NPSGGG) has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State governorship candidate Senator Sharafadeen Alli and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group also appealed to aggrieved APC members across the country to put aside their differences and work together in the interest of the party.

The NPSGGG Director-General, Abdul-Hakeem Atilade, made the appeal in Ibadan during an interdenominational prayer summit organised for President Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Senator Alli and other APC candidates.

Atilade said although prayer remained central to the gathering, party members must also back their prayers with active political participation and grassroots mobilisation.

He said the group plans to mobilise APC members across wards, local government areas, states and the federal level to boost electoral participation and support candidates endorsed by the party.

Atilade specifically urged APC members in Oyo State to unite behind Alli and other party candidates, expressing optimism that the party could end its opposition status in the state after the 2027 elections.

He said party members should remain loyal to the APC while working collectively to secure a strong electoral outcome for its candidates.

The Oyo State Coordinator of the group, Mariam Abiola, earlier described the prayer summit as an opportunity to seek divine direction for Nigeria and its leaders.

She said prayers would focus on wisdom, peace, stability and good governance as the country approaches the 2027 elections.

Abiola also said the group prayed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and other elected officials at the federal, state and local government levels, asking God to grant them wisdom, courage, justice and compassion in leadership.

She added that the group would continue to pray for peace, national unity, credible leadership and responsible participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.
