Mohamed Salah has moved into a Trabzon property previously occupied by former Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme following his arrival at Turkish club Trabzonspor, according to comments made by club president Ertugrul Dogan.
Speaking about reports surrounding the accommodation provided for the Egyptian star, Dogan said the house is one of several properties maintained by the club for its players and noted that Nwakaeme had lived there during his time with Trabzonspor.
He explained that the club has about seven or eight standard villas available for players and insisted that there was nothing unusual about the arrangement despite images circulating on social media.
Nwakaeme enjoyed two spells with Trabzonspor and became a popular figure among supporters before leaving the club at the end of last season. The 37-year-old retired after helping Trabzonspor win the Turkish Cup in May 2026, and the club has reportedly offered him a scouting role.
Salah’s arrival is also expected to benefit Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu. Former Trabzonspor forward Emre Gural said the Egyptian’s presence could create more space for the Nigerian attacker as opponents focus greater attention on Salah.
Gural suggested that Onuachu would receive the ball in different positions and could become even more dangerous if defenders are drawn toward the former Liverpool forward.
Onuachu finished the 2025/2026 Turkish Super Lig season as joint top scorer with 22 goals, sharing the Golden Boot with Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Basaksehir.
The Nigerian striker will now be hoping to build a strong attacking partnership with Salah as Trabzonspor pursue further success in the new season.
