Trabzonspor Confirms Transfer Talks With Mohamed Salah

Turkish club Trabzonspor has confirmed that it has opened transfer discussions with Mohamed Salah and expects the Egyptian forward to arrive in Turkey on Wednesday, August 5, for further talks.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Black Sea club said Salah would arrive at Istanbul Atatürk Airport at 12:00 p.m. before travelling to Trabzon later in the evening.

Salah left Liverpool at the end of last season after a successful nine-year spell at Anfield, during which he won the UEFA Champions League and two Premier League titles.

The 34-year-old scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, making him the third-highest goalscorer in the club’s history.

In the Premier League, Salah has registered 193 goals, including 191 for Liverpool, placing him fourth on the competition’s all-time scoring chart behind Alan Shearer, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney.

His final season at Liverpool was less productive, as he scored seven league goals in a campaign that proved difficult for the club.

Salah has also been linked with Beşiktaş, another Turkish Super Lig side.

Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish top flight last season, ending the campaign nine points ahead of Beşiktaş and securing a place in the Europa League play-off round.

At international level, Salah has scored 66 goals in 119 appearances for Egypt and remains one of the most accomplished African footballers in history.
