BEYOND THE PULPIT: BALANCING FAITH, PURPOSE, CAREER, AND IMPACT IN TODAY’S WORLD – PASTOR ESTHER AMOS

Pastor Esther Amos has called on individuals and professionals to redefine success beyond wealth, status, and social recognition, stressing the importance of faith, integrity, continuous learning, and positive impact in society.

Speaking on Trade FM on Friday, June 26, 2026, Pastor Amos said faith should not be limited to religious activities but should be reflected through everyday actions, character, and relationships with others.

She explained that genuine faith is demonstrated through love, kindness, honesty, forgiveness, service, and the ability to positively influence communities.

According to her, living a purposeful life requires self-discovery, personal growth, and understanding one’s talents and abilities.

“Purpose becomes clear when you serve others, seek guidance, take action, and continue learning,” she said, adding that faith also helps individuals find direction, make better decisions, and remain strong during difficult times.

Addressing the issue of modern definitions of success, Pastor Amos noted that society often measures achievement through wealth, titles, social media followers, and public recognition, but true success goes beyond material possessions.

She described success as living a meaningful life, developing good character, using personal gifts to help others, and leaving behind a positive legacy.

The pastor also advised professionals to pursue career ambitions without compromising their values, saying integrity and character should guide workplace decisions.

She encouraged workers to demonstrate their beliefs through their actions rather than forcing their opinions on others.

“Our lives are messages to others. It is not only what we say, but what we do daily that shows who we truly are,” she said.

Speaking on balancing faith, family, career, and personal development, Pastor Amos identified time management, wrong priorities, pressure to succeed, and stress as some of the major challenges people face.

She advised individuals to seek wise counsel, learn from mentors, set priorities, and focus on opportunities that align with their purpose.

Sharing from her personal journey, Pastor Amos highlighted the importance of continuous learning and self-development. She revealed that her path moved through different fields, including nursing, ministry, communication, singing, and fashion design, emphasizing that education and skill development helped her adapt and grow.

She warned that in a rapidly changing world driven by technology and artificial intelligence, people must continue learning to remain relevant.

“Continuous learning keeps the mind active, develops skills, strengthens discipline, and helps people maximize their gifts,” she said.

The faith leader also had a message for young people facing pressure to succeed quickly. She urged them to focus on personal development, patience, character building, and learning from those who have gained experience before them.

Pastor Amos encouraged leaders and professionals to focus less on titles and more on creating value, supporting others, and building a legacy that benefits society.

She concluded by advising individuals to allow their values to guide their decisions, use their gifts to serve others, and measure success by the lives they are able to positively impact.
