According to Blessing, SecureShop Nigeria provides a range of solutions, including fire alarm systems, CCTV cameras and access-control equipment, with the company serving customers through both its physical outlet in Ikeja, Lagos, and its online platform. She explained that maintaining both channels allows customers who prefer physical shopping to visit the outlet, while those in other parts of Nigeria can conveniently order their equipment online.
Blessing said the company’s approach goes beyond simply selling security equipment, as customers are often guided on the type of system that best suits their specific needs. She stressed that Nigerians should prioritise safety before security, particularly because fire can spread rapidly and cause extensive damage to lives and property.
She explained that fire alarm systems can provide early warning, giving occupants an opportunity to respond appropriately to a fire emergency. According to her, some modern systems can also be connected to applications, allowing users to receive notifications remotely when an alarm is triggered.
Blessing urged Nigerians not to risk their lives attempting to save valuables during a fire emergency, stressing that property can be replaced but lives cannot.
She also highlighted the importance of purchasing quality equipment and ensuring that sophisticated systems are professionally installed. While some basic fire alarm systems may be relatively simple to set up, she noted that more advanced systems require trained professionals to ensure they function properly.
Blessing advised customers not to focus solely on the initial price of security equipment but to consider the long-term cost. She explained that purchasing cheaper equipment that frequently develops faults and requires repairs could ultimately cost more than investing in a quality product from the outset.
As part of efforts to address what she described as a skills gap in the industry, Blessing said SecureShop Nigeria is organising training for installers and engineers. The training, scheduled for September 24th and 25th, 2026, is designed to introduce participants to fire alarm systems, provide practical experience and equip them with the knowledge required to work with the equipment.
She said the training will combine product introduction, instruction and practical sessions, with participants expected to gain useful hands-on knowledge. She added that the programme could also provide networking opportunities by connecting trained installers with potential customers.

On the digital side of the business, she said e-commerce has significantly changed how customers access security equipment. However, Blessing identified logistics and customer trust as some of the challenges associated with operating an online security equipment business. She explained that SecureShop currently relies on third-party logistics providers to deliver products to customers, which can sometimes result in delays or other delivery challenges.
The company, she said, is exploring ways to improve its logistics operations and track deliveries more efficiently to ensure customers receive their orders on time and in good condition.
Blessing also identified trust as particularly important when dealing with first-time online customers. She said SecureShop places emphasis on integrity, going the extra mile and excellence, while maintaining direct communication with customers and providing additional product information where necessary.
She added that the company’s customer relationship extends beyond the point of sale, with technical and support teams available to assist customers who experience difficulties with purchased equipment. Where a product develops a fault, the company assesses the problem and determines the appropriate solution, which may include repair or replacement where applicable.
