Artificial intelligence is significantly transforming business operations, content creation, and marketing strategies across Nigeria and Africa, while also creating new opportunities for growth and efficiency.
While speaking during the SME segment on Trade FM on Investing in Creativity: Why Businesses Are Embracing AI-Powered Visual Content, Richard Olumide Aiyelokun, a media professional noted that businesses are increasingly using AI to generate personalised content, run multiple campaigns, and improve customer engagement across digital platforms.
According to him, AI is helping brands reduce production time and costs, while allowing them to produce high-quality visual content faster and more consistently than traditional methods.
The media professional explained that the technology is also reshaping employment patterns, as individuals and organisations who understand how to use AI tools are now able to carry out tasks that previously required larger teams, making them more competitive in the market.
Aiyelokun added that Africa presents a strong opportunity for AI adoption, especially because many businesses are still developing their digital presence, allowing AI to support faster scaling, better marketing reach, and global competitiveness. He stressed that AI is not a standalone system as it depends on human input, direction, and creativity to function effectively and produce meaningful results.
He further highlighted the importance of licensing, legal agreements, and proper use of AI-generated content, warning that businesses must invest in reputable paid tools and understand usage rights to avoid legal complications.
The content creator also noted that AI is expanding beyond business use into areas such as tourism promotion, education, and even personal applications like photo restoration and memory preservation.
Aiyelokun concluded that although AI is disrupting traditional job structures, it is also rewarding those who adapt, stressing that the future of work and creativity will depend on how well individuals and businesses integrate AI into their processes.
