Davido: Nigerian Celebrities Must Do More to Address Insecurity

Nigerian music star Davido has admitted that entertainers in the country have not done enough to speak out against growing insecurity and injustice. The singer made the remark in a post on X, where he reflected on the role public figures should play in addressing national challenges.
Davido also dismissed claims linking him to any political “City Boy” group, stressing that he has previously criticised government policies and actions. He maintained that his comments were motivated by concern over the country’s worsening security situation and the hardships facing many Nigerians.

Calling for greater engagement from the entertainment industry, Davido urged fellow artistes and celebrities to use their influence to spotlight issues affecting citizens and push for meaningful change. He acknowledged that entertainers, including himself, must do more to raise awareness about the country’s challenges and hold leaders accountable.
