Chucks Joseph: Entertainment Is a Structured Business, Not Just Talent

Chucks Joseph, a Nollywood actor has said Nigeria’s entertainment industry offers strong opportunities for young creatives beyond fame, stressing that acting is ultimately a business that requires skill, strategy, and personal development.

Speaking on the topic “Beyond Fame: The Business Side of Acting and Entertainment,” on TRADE FM BUSINESS BREAKFAST SHOW, he noted that while the industry is profitable and open to talent in areas such as acting, cinematography, and production, financial limitations and low investment still affect earnings and stability.

He explained that social media has reshaped the industry by making it easier for creators to reach audiences directly, describing it as a tool that bridges the gap between producers and consumers and increases the chances of content going viral.

Mr Chucks Joseph also highlighted the importance of networking, branding, and continuous content creation, saying success in the industry depends on visibility and relationships as much as talent. He added that entertainment should be seen as a business venture where nothing is guaranteed, advising young actors to diversify their income and develop additional skills to remain sustainable in the industry.
