Lagos Recovers N270m from Fraudulent Estate Agents

The Lagos State Government says it has recovered over N270 million from fraudulent estate agents and property developers on behalf of residents affected by real estate scams.

The Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, disclosed this during the 2026 Ministerial Press Briefing in Alausa.

According to him, the recovery underscores the government’s commitment to protecting residents from exploitation and unethical practices in the real estate sector. He added that the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority has intensified enforcement, stakeholder engagement, and public sensitisation efforts to restore confidence in the property market
