The Oyo State Police Command has reported a successful security operation in Otu, Oke-Ogun axis, where three suspected kidnappers were neutralised and an abducted victim rescued. The operation was carried out through a coordinated effort involving police operatives, local hunters, and other security agencies.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the operation was launched after a distress call was received on May 25, 2026, from local hunters who came under attack by suspected kidnappers during a hunting expedition in the area. The swift response by security operatives helped contain the situation and prevent further escalation. From a broader economic and business perspective, the Command noted that such joint security collaborations are critical to restoring confidence in rural and agrarian communities, where insecurity often disrupts farming activities, local trade, and investment. Strengthened security operations are expected to improve safety, encourage economic activity, and support stability in the Oke-Ogun axis and beyond.
