More than 1,000 professionals in Nigeria’s solar energy sector have received technical training through a nationwide masterclass organised by Kartel Energy Limited, an indigenous solar equipment manufacturer and renewable energy solutions provider.
The programme, which is the second edition of the company’s technical training initiative, was designed to address the technical skills gap affecting Nigeria’s transition to renewable energy.
The training was conducted over a two-month period in Kaduna, Kano, Abuja, Ibadan and Asaba, bringing together solar installers, technicians, engineers, dealers, distributors, entrepreneurs and renewable energy enthusiasts.
Participants received intensive practical training focused on emerging technologies, modern installation methods and business development within the solar industry.
Speaking on the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of Kartel Energy, Ola Ogunsemowo, said the programme was inspired by the need to strengthen technical capacity in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding renewable energy market.
He explained that the growing adoption of solar power in homes, businesses and institutions has increased demand for professionals who can deliver safe, efficient and industry-standard installations.
According to him, the masterclass places strong emphasis on hands-on training in areas such as high-voltage systems, advanced inverter technologies and best installation practices.
Ogunsemowo said the company believes that empowering people with technical knowledge is as important as supplying quality solar products, adding that the initiative is an investment in the professionals who will drive the future of clean energy in Nigeria.
He noted that a better-trained workforce would improve the quality and safety of solar installations, increase customer confidence and strengthen the country’s renewable energy ecosystem.
The CEO also stated that the programme was offered free of charge, saying the company deliberately removed financial barriers so that access to quality technical education would not depend on participants’ ability to pay.
Training sessions combined classroom instruction with live demonstrations, giving participants direct exposure to real-world applications of Kartel’s latest solar technologies.
Attendees were also introduced to products from sister brands including GenixGreen, Luxwatt, Ensky and Chisage ESS, covering residential, commercial and industrial energy solutions.
Looking ahead, Ogunsemowo said Kartel Energy hopes to see a new generation of highly skilled solar professionals delivering world-class installations across Nigeria within the next five years.
He added that beneficiaries are expected to build successful renewable energy businesses, create jobs and contribute to reducing Nigeria’s power deficit through reliable and sustainable energy solutions.
Founded in 2019, Kartel Energy supplies inverters, lithium battery systems and solar panels designed to operate effectively under Nigerian conditions, including grid instability, voltage fluctuations and high ambient temperatures.
