CSCS announces first interim dividend as H1 2026 profit rises 115%

Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc has declared its first interim dividend of N1.00 per ordinary share after reporting a strong financial performance for the first half of 2026.

The dividend, approved by the Board of Directors for the six months ended June 30, 2026, comes as the company recorded a 115 per cent year-on-year increase in profit before tax. CSCS said the payout reflects strong earnings, healthy cash generation and confidence in maintaining growth while continuing to invest in technology and innovation.

The interim dividend is equivalent to about 56 per cent of the total N1.78 per share dividend paid for the 2025 financial year.

According to the company’s H1 2026 results, profit before tax rose to N13.21 billion, compared with N5.48 billion in the same period of 2025.

CSCS also reported that total operating income increased by 92 per cent to N18.51 billion, supported by higher transaction fee income, growth in depository services, expansion of its collateral management business and stronger contributions from data and technology-driven services.

Chairman of CSCS Plc, Mr. Temi Popoola, said the decision to declare an interim dividend demonstrates the Board’s confidence in the company’s financial position and long-term growth outlook. He added that the performance was driven by stronger activity in the capital market, improved operational efficiency, disciplined cost management and a more diversified revenue base.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Shehu Yahaya Shantali, attributed the results to the resilience of the company’s business model, the dedication of its employees and sustained confidence from market participants.

He said CSCS would continue investing in technology, innovation and new business opportunities aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s capital market infrastructure.
