Veteran Nollywood star Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, has revealed that his journey into acting was never part of his original plan. According to the celebrated comic actor, he began his career as a scriptwriter and had intended to remain behind the scenes.
Owoh explained that colleagues who admired his humour and natural wit off-camera convinced him to step in front of the camera. What started as an unexpected opportunity eventually transformed him into one of Nigeria’s most beloved actors.
Reflecting on fame, the veteran actor said celebrity status has significantly reduced his freedom, preventing him from doing many things he once enjoyed. He also dismissed claims that social media popularity can replace genuine acting ability, insisting that true talent remains the foundation of a successful acting career.
