CBN Redeploys Four Deputy Governors in Strategic Leadership Reshuffle

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has redeployed its four Deputy Governors in a management reshuffle aimed at strengthening leadership structure and improving operational efficiency. The changes, which took effect on June 1, 2026, were reflected in an updated profile on the bank’s official website.

Under the new arrangement, Dr Muhammad Abdullahi has been moved from the Economic Policy Directorate to Corporate Services, while Mr Philip Ikeazor now takes over the Economic Policy Directorate. Ms Emem Usoro has been reassigned from Corporate Services to the Operations Directorate, and Mr Lamido Yuguda moves from Operations to the Financial System Stability Directorate. Although the apex bank did not disclose reasons for the redeployment, the restructuring is expected to enhance coordination across key departments responsible for monetary policy, banking supervision, and operational management, as the institution aligns its leadership with evolving economic priorities.
