Lawal praises Super Eagles after Unity Cup win over Zimbabwe

Former Super Eagles midfielder Dimeji Lawal has praised Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup, describing it as a strong sign of progress for the national team.

Millwall forward Femi Azeez scored twice on his debut to secure Nigeria’s place in the final, delivering an impressive performance for the Super Eagles.

Lawal said coach Eric Chelle now has a wider pool of talented players capable of competing for places in the senior squad.

He also commended the team for keeping a clean sheet, noting that Nigeria’s previous meetings against Zimbabwe had ended in draws. The Super Eagles will now face the winner of the semi-final clash between India and Jamaica in the tournament final.
