An experimental Super Eagles squad will take on the Warriors of Zimbabwe tonight in the semi-final of the Unity Cup, according to reports by Complete Sports
Several key players, including captain Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Bruno Onyemaechi, Raphael Onyedika, and Akor Adams, missed Monday’s final training session and will not feature in the encounter.
Experienced goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is expected to start alongside Igoh Ogbu and Tochukwu Nnadi, who were all part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Recalled stars Terem Moffi and Alhassan Yusuf are also in line to feature.
Millwall winger Femi Azeez and Plymouth Argyle forward Owen Oseni could make their Super Eagles debuts, while the eight home-based players in camp are also expected to get playing time against the Zimbabweans.
Zimbabwe, under the guidance of coach Kaitano Tembo, are also rebuilding their squad and may hand debuts to a number of new players. Experienced midfielder Marvelous Nakamba is expected to lead the side.
Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle expressed confidence in the players available, saying the team is ready to make the country proud.
